My gun is totally digging in to your hip right now. Ace Ventura 3 is real. It’s happening. RE-HE-HEALY. And it’s coming to Amazon Studios. No, this news does not come from WereFullofShitSmothered.com but rather from Morgan Creek Entertainment themselves.
According to ComicBook.com, Morgan Creek entertainment had this to say during a recent retrospective about their company:
“We’re pretty excited about our franchise developments with Exorcist and the Ace Ventura franchise…During COVID, audiences have been in love and are thrilled to have beloved characters brought back with new stories. Ace Ventura will see a new day at Amazon as a major motion-picture/theatrical with the Sonic the Hedgehog writers.”
Now, we all know and have our feelings about Morgan Creek doing anything with the scariest goddamn film of all time in The Exorcist but Ace Ventura 3? Hell yes. Maybe I’m bias because the first two films were two of my favorite comedies of all time…but the world needs more wacky ass Jim Carrey.
Those who checked out Sonic The Hedgehog last year might remember that was the first time we’ve seen Carrey seem like he was having a goddamn blasty blast in a while. It was refreshing to see but it was also an all too painful reminder of how goddamn funny that man is. Also, that we don’t get films like Ace Ventura anymore.
