Zombies, vampires, werewolves, slashers. The trick is finding a cool angle to tell an age old tale.
Netflix‘ new vampire movie Blood Red Sky has that in spades.
A vampire mom, trying to keep her vampire-ism in check is on a plane with her son when it’s hijacked by terrorists. To protect her son she has to join the vampire mile high club but with murder instead of sex.
I mean, probably not sex. Vampires are pretty horny but I mean, her son is on board. So, that’d be inappropriate. Even for a vampire.
Enough about questionable airplane vampire sex murder. Here’s the trailer:
This entire idea unlocks a myriad of other cool ideas. The vampire is the good guy? What’s it liked to be trapped in a plane with a vampire? What’s it like when your mom is a vampire? When she turns the terrorists do they become her ally or enemy? How are we going to explain all of this to airport security when we land? Blood Red Sky debuts on Netflix July 23rd, 2021.
