Sylvester Stallone Hints at a RAMBO Prequel on a Streaming Service

Sylvester Stallone recently responded to a fan his Instagram asking "what about a new Rambo?" with "Only as a streaming prequel or not at all." That's like when you ask your wife what she wants to eat from Wendy's and she responds with "A divorce but also I've been cheating with your father. Let me get that spicy chicken sandwich though." He was asked a little but he said a lot.

A. This means Stallone as Rambo is dead and that sucks but it's pretty much expected. Rambo: Last Blood rocked the shit in our opinion (review below) and Stallone was impressive but age is age, man. It's undefeated. Even if Sly has given it a hell of a run. He's got an amazing and underrated dramatic acting ability and doesn't need to rely on only physically grueling action films for the rest of his career.

B. He's clearly actively thinking about this prequel and it seems like he's even shopped the idea around. "Only as a streaming prequel or not at all" sounds like an answer he's already been given.

I'm going to be honest here, I really don't want this. Stallone is Rambo and the stories are timeless. Nobody looks or acts like Sylvester Stallone. He's one of a kind, which is why he's such a huge goddamn deal. I don't need to see anyone else try and be Rambo. It'd be a lot like that Han Solo prequel Disney shelled out. It's just not the same.

Maybe Stallone has an idea for a prequel in his head he thinks is groundbreaking and maybe he really needs to get it out. If so, we'll see. But for me, I'll stick with my five Rambo films. I'll watch just about anything Sly is in, however. His new film The Samaritan just wrapped filming and sounds pretty goddamn rad.
