I’m the backwards man, the backwards man, I can build houses fast as you can. In all seriousness, The Night House is definitely one horror flick releasing this year I’m going to make note of. There’s some absolute You Should Have Left, Invisible Man, Sinister, oh my god I’ve mentioned nothing but Blumhouse films vibes going on here with a little sprinkle of A24 naughtiness.
Rebecca Hall (The Town, Iron Man 3) is a plus for sure. Even weird, other dimension, backwards Rebecca Hall. Let’s just hope that fiery bastard Killian isn’t behind all this (Bad Iron Man 3 joke). Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski wrote the film. The two previously paired together on the super dark teenage horror suspense/horror film Super Dark Times. Which, we’ve put our review for below.
The Night House premiered on the festival circuit previously and is currently sitting at an 88% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, if that sort of thing warms your plate. That’s not a thing people say, is it?
